Baby name coincidence for Michael Weatherly

Olivia has been a popular baby name over the past two decades, but for new parents Michael Weatherly and Bojana Jankovic -- who will call their new baby girl Olivia -- the name has a deeper significance.

“My wife Bojana is Serbian and her name means war or warrior,” Michael, 43, told People. “And when you give someone an olive branch, that’s an offering of peace. So Olivia is peace. I think we have a Tolstoy novel going on now: Mother and daughter, war and peace!”

The NCIS star and his wife didn’t consider the “happy coincidence” when the picked the name. And despite the war and peace connotations, Bojana and Olivia “are instantly getting along so well, so there’s no problem.”

Modern baby girl names

Michael is looking forward to wrapping up this season of NCIS so he’ll have more time to spend with his little family. But he admits that being on the set has its perks.

Old-fashioned baby names

“I instantly felt surrounded by the love,” the actor says of sharing the birth announcement with cast and crew. “I got a big hug from Mark Harmon. I was of course texting everyone! Everyone here has been incredibly supportive.”
