Grandparent Names: Traditional, trendy and matched pairs
Jack and actress Lisa Stelly recently got engaged and within two weeks announced their baby news. The father-to-be revealed the happy news on Piers Morgan Tonight, adding, “I’m excited. I’m a little nervous.”
But Sharon’s not nervous… “It’s just a blessing, it’s a joy,” she said on The Talk. “They’re going to have a baby in April. Yes!”
And no one is going to take that “joy” away from Grandma. “That’s what comes with being a grandmother,” Sharon, 59, explained. “You can spoil, you can indulge, and then say, ‘Okay, now let your parents be the ones to teach you right from wrong. I’m not. What do you want? Have it!’”
But don’t call her Grandma or Grammy. “The baby’s going to call me Shazza or Misses O. In London, that’s Sharon, the abbreviation is Shazza. They call you, ‘Shazza.’ ‘Hello Shazza!’”
And “Shazza” is counting down the days. “It just gets better and better, the thought of it, as we’re getting closer and closer,” Sharon told People at Guitar World’s Rock & Roll Roast. “I’m getting more and more excited.”
Grandma’s not buying for the baby-to-be yet because she’s “very superstitious.” But when the little one arrives, look out! “I am going to be the grandmother from hell because I am going to spoil this baby so bad,” she said. “My son and Lisa are going to be like, ‘Get her out of here!’” What do your kids call their grandparents?More From SheKnows ExplorerComments (0)
