Hello Blue Ivy Carter!

When celebrities give birth, they have the option to sell the first snapshots of their babies to various news outlets. Beyonce and Jay-Z, who are used to doing things their own way, decided this was not the path for them. 

Last week the couple posted five pictures of their baby, Blue Ivy Carter, on a tumblr site they created for this very reason.

The couple have released 5 beautiful pictures of their baby girl, along with a handwritten note that reads, “We welcome you to share in our joy. Thank you for respecting our privacy during this beautiful time in our lives. ~The Carter Family”.

Some celebrities sell their baby photos for charity

The photos range from solos of baby Blue, to shots of Beyonce laughing while holding her baby girl, and Jay-Z lounging while snuggling his baby. These shots could be of any couple and their new baby, you can see they are tired and overjoyed, just as all new parents are.

How to celebrities handle the paparazzi in their children's lives?

US Weekly spoke with June Ambrose, celebrity artist and friend of Beyonce. When talking about the introduction of Blue Ivy, Ambrose said, “B really really thought about this, and she really wanted to do it this way."

Ambrose continued, "She just couldn't imagine selling pictures of her baby. It just felt really good to see her do it under her terms.”
