Kristin Cavallari, former star of The Hills, is pregnant. The baby will be the first for the actress and her on-again/off-again fiance, Jay Cutler.

“We are thrilled to announce we are expecting our first child together,” the couple told People in a joint statement. “It’s an amazing time in our life and we can’t wait to meet the new addition to our growing family.”

New celebrity trend: old-fashioned baby names

Kristin and Jay were introduced by E! News host Giuliana Rancic in 2010. Last February, the 25-year-old actress sat down with Billy Bush and Kit Hoover of Access Hollywood. “Is he the one?” Kit asked Kristin about her relationship with the Chicago Bears quarterback. “I’d like to say yes,” was Kristin’s giggly reply.

Jay, 28, proposed to Kristin in April 2011, but the pair called things off in July. Then, in November, 25-year-old Kristin told Twitter fans that their engagement was back on, tweeting, “This time its official..Jay and I are engaged again.”

A source close to the couple told Us Weekly that Jay “absolutely adores her.  He worships the ground she walks on and she is so in love with him. This is a real match, they are made for one another. Everyone is so happy that they are going to have a baby together. She's going to be a great mom."

Us Weekly spotted a pregnant Kristin running grocery errands in West Hollywood, Calif. The mom-to-be wore super-skinny jeans, a beige blouse and sky-high heels. She definitely had that pregnancy glow about her.

"She is really happy. She is in the early stages, but she can't wait to be a mom," a source told Us, adding that close friends and family of the couple have known about the pregnancy for a few weeks now.
