Michelle and Jim-Bob Duggar are not only famous for having 19 children, but also for giving each of the babies in their large clan names that begin with the letter J. Reactions were mixed when the news broke that they were expecting baby number 20 in the Spring.

This last week at their routine 20 week ultrasound, Michelle heard the news no Mother wants to hear and our hearts broke right along with theirs when they suffered the loss of their baby at 19 weeks gestation. It is never easy to lose a baby, but having to explain it to your children makes the pain even worse.

How to explain miscarriage to your children.

“After the appointment, we came back home and told the children,” Michelle, 45, told People.

“I feel like my heart broke telling my children,” Michelle said. “They have all been so excited about this baby and looking forward to April coming around and having a new little one in our arms. That was the most difficult. The Lord is the giver of life and he can choose when that life is ready to go on and be with Him.”

Michelle Duggar on letting miscarriage happen naturally.

The Duggars' 19 children, who range in age from 23 years to 23 months, were devastated by the loss. Joshua, Jana, John-David, Jill, Jessa, Jinger, Joseph, Josiah, Joy-Anna, Jedidiah, Jeremiah, Jason, James, Justin, Jackson, Johannah, Jennifer, Jordyn-Grace and Josie will all have to grieve right along with Michelle and Jim-Bob.

After the doctor determines the gender, the Duggar family will name their child before the burial. Our hearts go out to the Duggars and we wish them well.
