Private Practice actor Taye Diggs and his wife, actress Idina Menzel, are the proud parents of a baby boy. Son Walker Nathaniel was born on September 2^nd, 2009.

This is the first child for the long-time couple. Diggs and Menzel met in 1996 as original Broadway cast members on Rent. After seven years of dating, the couple married in 2003.

The name Walker is a name of English origin meaning “Worker in cloth.” The new baby’s middle name, Nathaniel, means “Gift of God; God has given” in Hebrew.

The new parents sport unique names of their own. Taye is a name of Ethiopian origin meaning “One who has been seen.” Mom Idina’s name is a variation of the English name Edina, meaning “Wealthy friend.”

How refreshing is it to see a Hollywood couple who met, courted, married and then had a baby!
