As another year comes to a close, so does another set celeb-setting trends…and baby names are no exception. Following a couple of years of some crazy celebrity baby name trends, like fruit baby names such as Apple, to made up baby names such as Bronx Mowgli, it seems like celebrities this year have followed the rest of the world more than the rest of the world follow them with the names that they’ve chosen for their bundle of joy. Let’s check out celebrity baby name trends from 2010.

Unique names
The year 2010 was filled with tons of celebrity babies, including kiddos with some pretty unique names. Although it appears that the trend of crazy baby names isn’t as strong in years past, celebrity parents didn’t disappoint fans completely.

Two sets of Hollywood parents welcomed sons named Axel, while the name River was picked for Sean Murray and Carrie Murray’s son as well as Brian R. Keathley and Clare Kramer’s daughter. Other monikers that drummed up a lot of chatter included Buddy Bear, Cash, Draco, Egypt, Falco, Hartley, Liberty, Sundance, and Vida.

Same letter sibling names
The trend of sibling names starting with the same letter was still a celeb parent favorite this year. Rebecca Herbst and hubby Michael Saucedo added Emerson to siblings Ethan and Ella. And Cosmia joined siblings Caspar and Clementine in Claudia Schiffer and Matthew Vaughn’s household.

Popular baby names
Some celebrity parents went along with the rest of the country’s trend of naming their newborns baby name chart toppers. Names like Ava, Ella, and Grace donned the birth certificates of future starlets, as well as names like Ethan and Jackson for future heartthrob hunks. Last year’s trend of traditional baby names that inspired celebrity parents continued to hold strong with names such as Olivia, Daniel, Michael, and Benjamin.

Historical references, from both fiction and real life
Although the trend of baby names inspired by fictional characters is slowing down in terms of popularity, such as the Twilight cast of characters such as Bella and Edward, the literary name Sawyer labeled a Hollywood elite babe thanks to parents Erica Hill and David Yount.

Boris Becker and Lilly Kerssenberg dug deep into history for their son’s name, Amadeus, while Biblical names, like Titus and Abel, show that sometimes history repeating itself can be a good thing…at least when you’re a celebrity parent.

Unisex baby names
Celebrities continued to show unisex baby names the love with the popular unisex baby name Riley, which blessed Stella McCartney’s special delivery, as well as with unisex names Harper and Billie.

biblical boy name

Albert Pujols named his son Ezra. I think that it's a biblical name. Anyone know more on this unusual name?
