As far as her middle name of Ivy, it is reportedly in reference to the Roman number IV or four, which is a
special number to the couple. They were
married on April 4, Beyonce’s birthday is September 4, Jay-Z’s birthday is
December 4 and she has an album titled “4.”

When Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay’s Chris Martin named their
daughter Apple, fans were left dazed and confused over their strange baby name
choice.
“Basically one day [Chris] just said if it's a girl I
think her name should be Apple,” Paltrow told Oprah. “And I just said it
sounded so sweet, and it conjures such a lovely picture for me, you know apples
are so sweet and they're wholesome, and it's biblical and... I just thought it
sounded so lovely and clean, and then I just thought perfect and then she was
born and it became like an international outrage, I mean which I found
surprising because there are people named Rose or Lily or Ivy or June, or you
know lots of pretty nouns."
