Worst celebrity baby names of 2014

We all love to hate celebrity baby names, don't we? So here they are. The worst of the worst. The biggest nope celebrity baby names of 2014.

Pairings that make you say nope

We love all of these names — just not together.

  • Buzz Michelangelo: This name is a lot to live up to for the new baby son of Tom Fletcher and his wife Giovanna.
  • Cash Van: While we love that the first name is a nod to mom Kelli Cashiola Haywood's maiden name, we wish she and husband Dave Haywood had said the pairing aloud a few more times.
  • Leo and Lenny: Roger Federer and his wife Mirka welcomed their second set of twins in May of this year. This combination of names, both short for Leonard, makes us imagine other twin sets, like Billy and William or Eliza and Liz.
  • Rose Dorothy: Scarlett Johansson gave her daughter two gorgeous names — that unfortunately make us think Golden Girls. But Golden Girls is amazing, so she gets a pass.
  • Sid: On its own, this name is great. But when you find out his father is Jason Biggs, the first-last name pairing sounds a little bit adult film star.
  • Summer Rain: Christina Aguilera and fiance Matt Rutler welcomed their stormy daughter in August.

Boy names for girls

Unisex names appeal to us, but straight-up boy names on girls rub us the wrong way. Maybe in a world where it's fine to give boys feminine names — hat tip to Kelly Rowland for naming her son Titan Jewell — but until then, let's stop giving credence to the idea that male names make girls appear stronger.

  • Alijah Mary: If you must give your daughter a boy's name, at least use the most common spelling. Perhaps Kendra Wilkinson plans on shortening her new girl's name to Ali?
  • Beau Katherine: Ned Brower and Sarah Jane Morris chose the male form of beautiful in French for their daughter.
  • Bowie Lou: Technically neither male nor female, Rebecca Minkoff's choice for her daughter makes us think of David Bowie and Lou Reed. Of course, with associations like that, we can see why she and husband Gavin Bellour chose this moniker.
  • Mars Ilah: Workaholics star Blake Anderson and wife Rachael Finley named their baby girl after the Roman god of war.
  • Wyatt Isabelle: We knew Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis would choose an attention-getting name for their girl. Thankfully they paired Wyatt with a super feminine middle name to balance it out.

Just, no

What were they even thinking?

  • Apollo Bowie Flynn: We adore rockers Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, but since their first son Kingston James, they've missed the mark on baby boy names. This is an improvement over middle son Zuma Nesta Rock, though.
  • Briar Rose: We also put this name of Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen's daughter on the best celebrity baby names of 2014 list, but it goes both ways. We adore the name Briar, but is full-on Disney princess necessary?
  • Royal Reign: Lil' Kim and Mr. Papers want us to know their baby girl rules all, twice.
  • Saint Laszlo: Oh, Pete Wentz. No.
