Style and fashion from the 1970s is popular right now -- but what about baby names from the seventies? Jennifer was the top name in 1970 for girls, and more boys were named Michael than any other name. What other names made the list? Read on to find out!
Classic names from long ago are very "in" right now, but why not fish through these names for a new kind of retro? For girls, consider this: Your little one will likely not run into another classmate named Brenda, for example. Heather is a beautiful name that isn't currently popular but would make an adorable name for an infant while being suitable for an adult. Cynthia is a name once popular but now sounds unique and cute (not aged and post-trendy). Some girl names appearing here, like Kathleen, Nicole and Rebecca, have a timeless feel about them as well. Elizabeth is a perennial favorite and will likely never go out of style. For boys, why not make your son the cool kid in class with a name like Gregory or Eric? Neither is currently super popular but they still are easy to say, spell and remember while seeming to be a little unique. James, #2 on the list, is still riding high popularity-wise at #19 in 2010 but there are other one-syllable names to choose from here, such as Scott, Craig, Troy and Sean. Get stylin' here with the top names from the 1970s for both boys and girls! Popular girl names from the 1970s More From SheKnows ExplorerComments (0)
