Baby Girl Name Trends

This southern state has an affinity for romantic and feminine names, like Mia, Kayla and Arianna.  Names that have a southern belle ring to them, like Madison and Adalyn top the list, as well. Madison was actually the top choice for Georgia parents, according to the Social Security Administration. It is also interesting to note that many of these top girl names in Georgia start with the letter A – Adalyn, Arianna,  Ashley, Ava and Avery. Traditional or classic girl names, such as Carolyn, Kimberly, Nicole and Jessica, are a top pick among parents in Georgia. Lastly, virtue baby names, such as Trinity, Grace and Navaeh (heaven spelled backwards) are a big trend not only in Georgia, but throughout the US.

Baby Boy Name Trends

The Social Security Administration's list of top baby names in Georgia has William as the top pick, but Georgia parents in 2010 were searching for Landon most frequently BabyHold.  In fact, William didn’t even make our list! Other traditional boy names, such as Joshua, Samuel, James and Brandon were some of the top picks. Irish boy names, such as Connor, Teagan, Aidan and Rylan, are popular in Georgia and around the US. Biblical names, such as Caleb and Noah, are also making a strong presence on the top boy name list.
