The year 2010 seems to have come and gone quicker than usual, just as have some of the top baby names of past years' lists. Wondering where last year's baby name chart toppers like Jacob, Ethan, and Michael, and Isabella, Emma, and Olivia fared in 2010? Check out the top baby names from 2010.
BabyHold.com visitors searched high and low f or the perfect name for their bundle of joy. Past baby name chart champions like Sophia, Ava, Emily, Isabella, Emma, Jacob, Ethan, Michael, and Joshua continue to pop up on the top 100. But, these names have also lost top billing in the name game, indicating that parents across the globe are looking for names that aren't going to blend in with the crowd.
Just to drive the point home, monikers such as Alexander, William, Olivia, and Anthony, which made the Social Security Administration's top baby names of 2009 list, did not make the top 100 baby names cut in our 2010 baby name research. So, what names did parents give their special delivery as this year comes to a close?
Top baby girl names
A lot of little ladies will be labeled with the name Kayla, making the number one spot in 2010. Mia, from baby name charts past, follows closely at number two. Newer names to top spots include Jessica, Arianna, Nevaeh, while Ava, Chloe, and Ella are used to hanging close to the top in recent years.
Other top baby girl names in 2010 included Keira, Madison, Adalyn, Aaliyah, Ashley, Alyssa, Brielle, Zoe, Rebecca, and Nicole.

Top baby boy names
Quite a few bouncing baby boys will sport the top baby boy name, Tristan, which has made huge leaps and bounds up the baby name hierarchy. Male monikers Teagan and Conner are newcomer to the top of the baby boy name list, while Caleb and Landon have gained momentum. The name Ethan continues to hold strong in the charts, but the surname Noah has lost popularity ever so slightly in the list. But, all have made the top spots for boy names, nevertheless.
Other top baby boy names in 2010 included Tyler, Jayden, Ryan, Sean, Aidan, Samuel, Hayden, Micah, Dylan, and Killian.

Top unisex baby names
Although in general, unisex names are not as popular as baby name charts past, they still hold their own amongst the most popular baby names. Labels such as Jaden, Caden, Riley, and Rylan were given to both baby boys and baby girls throughout the year. But, does this indicate a downward trend in unisex baby names? We'll have to just wait and see what 2011 brings!
