I work with someone named Basil and although people often butcher his name I happen to like it very much! I think it has a great meaning and when pronounced correctly is very beautiful........

When I had to start thinking of names for our daughter, many different names came up. I wanted a name that more than likely no one was going to have. So, I found the name Basil....I looked it up and found that it was meant to be a boys name but in my fashion that dosent mean anything.....So we chose Basil Grace and the name fits her perfect!
