I read that too. You have to remember though, that is exactly what Cassandra did. Apollo, I believe but could be mistaken, fell in love with her and when she didn't return his love, he cursed her to see the future but to have no one believe her. Which later led to the predictions of the Trojan horse and the horror that came with it for her family, her people, and herself. Man, was he jaded or what? She fought the curse as much as she could and never gave up, which is why it's such a strong, powerful, and very beautiful name.

I'm think I'm much more simple though, which is why Cassie works just fine for me, at least at this point in my life. It's the best of both worlds. (Thanks, mom.)
The real meaning

Keep it Special
written by enigma269, February 22, 2008
Cassandra is my middle name, and I love it.I also like the fact that not many people are named that cause it makes it more special for me. I think that if alot of people started to name their kids 'Cassandra' the name would lose its uniqueness. So I think that we should keep this name to our selfs' unless we all want to become clones!!!!

Ha-ha... seems that all the Cassandras comment on their names. I havent seen any other page that has quite as many people commenting about their own name...Their child's name, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, grandparents? ye but not theirs.. I think us Cassandras are quite full of ourselves. LOL! But I must say... we do have an AWESOME name. And I can Totally relate to Cassie's comment on how people are always messing up our name... They always call me either Cass-ON-dra or Casey (Kay-see)...

I love the name Cassandra, it's what my husband and I plan on naming one of our girls. I didn't know that Cassandra meant "She who entangles men" I knew it meant Strong but this just makes me like it even more. Cassandra Elizabeth P------. I think we are nick naming her Sandy, it's short for Sandra which is short for Cassandra, I'm not to keen on Cassie, well I am but a friend of ours named there dog that so it doesn't work for me, plus we are big beach bums. Love the name, I didn't know any Cassandras while growing but and that's one this I hated at school was so many other Sarah's even though I don't have an "h" it's still the same name, I still don't know any Cassandras. So happy with that name can't wait to have my little girls.

I named my first daughter Cassondra! I didnt want her to be called CassANdra thats why i spelt it with an O but people just look too quickly and arent attentive to detail! We call Cassondra Mae Cassi Mae, Cass, Cassi, but there are lots of choices like sondra, sonny. Good luck!
