My brother's name is Derek Wade. Growing up a Jessica, I thought my mom favored my brother by giving him a non-so-common name. Being a teacher, I've had a few Derek's in my classroom. All of them maintain some similar personality traits- strong willed, intelligent, athletic... My brother is now a Naval Aviator, so the name fits him perfectly. If my baby is a boy, I will definitely name him Derek, after my brother and hero :)
