but I think Elizabeth is the most elegant, distinguished, beautiful names. And, obviously a true classic. Granted, there are so, so many nicknames, Elizabeth on it's own is simply gorgeous. It's been passed down through my family and I feel totally proud to have the name. It's not a fad, it'll never be a name that sounds ridiculous in five years; simply put: it's timeless.
That's my name!

Honestly I don't really care for my name. All of the nicknames for Elizabeth sound weird. Libby, yeah in school kids laugh and call you Lippy. Lizzy, kids in school say "Eeww does that mean you like other girls" and I think Beth just sound weak. My Mom named me Elizabeth Shea and I like my middle name just not my first. Just keep in mind that your kids have to go through 13 years of school with that name and other kids can be very cruel! This is just my personal experience and I really hope I am not offending anyone.
