George has become a really common name. I work with children and there are at least 3 Georges out of 50 kids!

I love the name George. I don't know why! I love the brand GEORGE at Walmart, I love everyone I've met named George, ...and I would not hesitate in naming my baby George. I admit it's not my favorite name, but it is definitely in the top 10! :)

George was definately not in my top 10. It wasn't even a place holder on my list of possibilities. My son's name is George however. He goes by his middle name, Tyler, and doesn't acknowledge George as his name. He's almost 4. It's a family name and I didn't have a choice. He is George #6 on my husband's side of the family. I still don't like it though...

My Grandfather was called George although he preferred to be acknowledged by his middle name which was Edwin.
Coincidently he was actually a farmer who was totally dedicated to it until he died aged 74, however I don't recall him telling me any stories about fighting Dragons!

My three year old is named George Christopher. I originally named him after my grandfather that passes shortly before his birth, and now I am so glad I did. Think George Clooney, think George Strait. I think classic, strong names on men are so sexy. Besides, everywhere I bring him people tell me how much they LOVE this name.

George is a family name in my husband's family. My husband is George the III. At first, we didn't want to pass the name onto our son, but no other name satisfied us. We named our son George the IV and have never regretted giving him such a strong name. We rarely meet other kids with the first name, but my son is thrilled when he meets an adult with the name and loves hearing about famous people in history with his name. The family also has a tradition of giving nicknames to each George. I thought I came up with something unique and chose Geo. Later I learned that was not so uncommon a nickname for someone named George, LOL. We love the name, but if he decides not to pass it onto his son that is ok. :)
