My grandmother's name was Harriet, and that is who I am named after. As a child and teenager, I hated it. I grew up in the 70's when very littel girl in class was named Laura, Karen or Kim. Any other Harriet I met, was either very old, or really mean, (remember Harriet Olsen from Little House on the Prairie?). It just was not cool. But as I grew and matured I came to appreciate my name and even come to like it.
