I am really sorry but Shelley is not a boys name, and never will be. Shelley is really another for of Michelle. But anyway Shelley is a GIRLS name not a boys name. I have never met or even heard of a boy names Shelley and if someone named their son Shelley then shame on them. IT"S A GIRLS NAME ONLY.

Whomever wrote that there are NO boy Shelley's. Let me help you out. Shelley Berman (commedian), Shelley H. Silverman (Art Director for many fammous movies). Also, Shelley is NOT another name for Michelle and as someone who is a TRUE "Shelley" it irritates me to no end when someone calls me Michelle because they are sure that is my real name. I also find it irritating when they mispell my name as they think they know how to spell it better than I. My name is Shelley and I am proud of it.

AMEN Shelley O! When I was young there were absoutley NO American girls named Shelley. and I was (am) one of the girlest girls there ever was! I also HATE the fact that people think it is "suppose " to be Michele or Shelia. I am Shelley !
I liked the fact that if someone said "Shelley" I knew it was me and I rather felt sorry for all the Lindas, Kathys, Debbies,and Sues I was in school with because they always had to have an initial after their names so people would know which one was being referred to. Now I am soon to become a grandmother and I wonder if there will be another rash of Lindas, Debbies, Kathys and Sues as their sons and daughters name their children after my generation?

Thank God there are other people out there with the same name not to mention spelled the same way. I can not stand it when people assume it's always spelt "Shelly", I always have to spell my name out load to them and they still get it wrong. What's up with that!!!
Anyways, I have encountered a couple of males with the name "Shelly" (of course spelled wrong)how weird, it's a pretty name that suits girls.
