my sons name is Ryker Von and he was born October 31, 2002. i came up with the name from the jail Rikers island in new york just spelled with a y. i had never heard of the name for anyone before except on star trek and when i thought of it there was no books or sites with it on there. this is the first time i have seen it with a specific origin. in a book it says its american. i thought it sounded irish.

My son's name is Ryker as well, born in Jan. 2002

I know what you mean, there were none then. I swear someone in the hospital tells people, because there are 3 or 4 more in our small area in the last 2 or 3 years now. I've seen the meaning as "becoming rich". I hope that's true, lol.

My son Ryker was born October 13th 2007. I remember my Aunt having a gorgeous dreamy highschool sweetheart named Ryker in the 80's. It sounded so strong and masculine to me...He gets compliments on his name all the time. (Ryker LeRoy Vincent) Most people say they've never heard that name? :)
