I love this name, no matter the spelling because there are so many great women in history and literature with this name (Eleanor Roosevelt, Elinor in Sense and Sensibility). but I really like the spelling Elanor, and I got it from Lord of the Rings (the child Samwise has at the end, named after the flower in Lothlorien). In the book it means beautiful.

Our daughter is Eleanor Grace, but usually goes by Ellie Grace. We love the name... it is beautiful as a child name and an adult name.

My grandmother made a family tree for our family and I am a direct descendant of Eleanor of Aquitaine. Cool isn't?
