my second name is louise. i like my name. i think it's a very nice name for a girl. there is a sweetness and tomboyish charm about it. i'm like the 3rd generation in my family to have a louise in there name. people think that i was named after joe louis, boxer, but i was really named after my grandparents.

My cousin's name is Allison Louise, she is named after my grandma- Peggy Louise. But I really really don't like this name, but it's ok if it's a middle name.

Me myself and Louse

I am Bonita Louise. Kinda funny that it was after my g-ma, Helen Louise. Funnier to know that Louise is a derivative of "Helen!" Well my g-ma was a fighter and a fighter!! (to her name sake!) So my name now means "pretty, fights for honor." It is me!! Not only is there no other Bonita there is mos def no Bonita Louise EVER!! I love that my name is so unique that I never had to go through the "Ashley S., no not you Ashley T." type of thing, even as an adult, people remember me and my name. To unique not to! Although both of my names were popular in the 30's, there is no combo near my likes in current times!!! I as so not the "Taylor, Danielle, Rachel, Samantha" type. Individuality os so understated now days. A unique name came allow for one to become thier own person. .
My sister's daughter, age 1.
written by kreder, March 31, 2010
I was very surprised when my sister, aged 37 wanted to call her daughter like that. I'm 44 and thought it was very old-fashionned and in my house, nobody loved it (nor my husband or three children) and my mother, aged 75 hated it too but not for the same reason : she thought it was given to the rural cleaning ladies! Strange because for me, it was on the contrary a very classical and even aristocratic. What do you think?
Anyway, my mother and I decided to call her Lily (or Lilie) and my younger son Loulou, but finally I couldn't make it with Lily and strangely still use Louise. Is there another nickname that we can use?

I forgot to say that I thought it was a very common name in English-speaking countries, but now that I've seen your comments I'm not quite sure of that.

I named my first daughter Louise Elizabeth. I thought the name went well with our french last name. We called her Louise until she was seven and a friend called her Lou, we caught onto that real fast. I think it is a pretty name and not your average run of the mill name.Apparently is quite common in England but not Canada.
