My name is Amber Elizabeth Auston Halpern so I can definatly be described as "fierce with three snaps". I'm strong, mysterious and beautiful just like the name suggests. I don't know many people with my name so it's nice to represent. I think the name is also kind of royal. Very nice for a little princess.

I was born in 1957, and did not know anyone with the name Amber until the late 70's. I got tired of the old joke, "Are you forever," like the book with not such a great reputation. I like hearing the name now with the younger generations. And yes, I am fierce, like the name suggests. You had to be to survive with a name that wasn't Linda or Kathy.

This is absolutely true. I don't know if I've met a single Amber who doesn't have that ferocity. We are all forces to be reckoned with - in both good and bad ways.

I know how you feel about being the only Amber. I was the only Amber until I went to High School and even then there were only two Ambers. My mom gave a middle name so if I did not care for Amber I could change it. Never did! I feel so much more at easy now that I never even changed my last name when I married. It just fits me!
