However, there is also a african root based on the name Kia which meaning is "Hill".
I am a German - my wife is Ugandan. We did not chose the name because of the root or the meaning but simply we liked it. We decided to call our baby Kian if it is a boy or Kiana if it is a girl (we did not know what it is before birth).
Soe we called our son Kian and I have to say, he really behaves like a King standing on the top of the hills. I therefore like more the african/asian interpretation/meaning.
So now it is up to you to decide what you like most :-)
