I remember, when I was little, I wished my mum had named me Melissa. Melissa was always a name under the personalized items.

By the time I was 8 I grew to love my name. People never seemed to be able to stop confusing me with Kayla, though. However, the confusion always seem to be out weighed by how much I love having a unique name.

I've always thought my name was weird and I couldn't get over everyone calling me Kayla,and my siblings had the most common names(Jacob,Anna).But now I love my because it means Lovly gust like me.

I always thought I was the only one. In till the movie star Kyla Pratt came along. Growing up I hated my name because it was always so different and no one could ever get it right. But now at 23(people still don't get it right) but I love it I'm so proud my mother choose it for me it's such a beautiful name. I have a key chain in Hebrew that says my name means Beautiful Flower.

People call my Kyra if they hear me say my name. That makes me crazy and they can't seem to read it without saying Kayla.

I too have met very few Kyla's. I disliked my name growing up because of the trouble people have pronouncing it (why is it so hard by the way...people don't have a hard time with Kyle!) But now I LOVE it and it fits me to a tee! I still however hear the name Kayla and cringe!! :)

I love the name Kyla, its so feminine and pretty. Its deffinately going to be an option when coming to chose a name for our next child!

Out of all the meanings of the name kyla I've read, every single one fits me(except the ones that are complete nonsense).I too have been called Kayla way too many times that(i must have anger issues :)) i want to just grab the nearest gun and shoot anyone who calls me it again. I have only met one other Kyla who was a complete and total spoiled brat that can't tell an apple from an airplane. This name did not suit her at all and her mom is a lair because she said she made it up. I've always liked my name,though apparently because of my personality i'm the outcast in school.(i only made an account on this site to post this comment.) Screw them.
