The Only One?
written by Adriane, October 23, 2007
My name is Adriane and I am quit happy with it. I have never met anyone with the same spelling however I have met others with the same name. I use to hate it because I was so different but now I can appreciate the way it is spelled.

Adrian E = Adriane/Adrianne a
written by Adrianne/Adriane, July 16, 2008
I'm a guy and my mum gave me a very girl sounding name, with the spelling Adrianne with an "E", where she could just gave me a simple "Adrian" which is more accepted as a male version of my name, the story goes like this our family has a custom of having 7 letter names that starts with the letter A (thus my siblings are named, Alduane, Aron Jay, Angelou, my dad is Armando, my grandfather is Arsenio, my uncles are Alberto, Arleene, cousins, Abygail, Ardeene, Anndrea, Aldrich, Aldrian, and the long list never ends). Well the original plan was I would be named as Aldrian, but unfortunately my twin cousins, Aldrich and Aldrian was born one day ahead of me, so she chose Adriane instead, but the thing is the one who made my birth cert. registered me as "Adrianne" with a double "N" but my mum insisted that I should use the single "N" to follow the family tradition, thus I used the name Adriane since birth up to my last senior year in college (with a special power of attorney or an affidavit). But at the end of my senior year, I was about to apply for my passport (I was about to go to HK that year) the DFA denied the usage of my "Adriane" name instead they ordered me to use the name "Adrianne" Ohh... I was a bit devastated, my name even became more girlier than ever... Arrgghhh... but it is fine, I am now used to it... sometimes receiving letters with my name written as "Ms. Adrianne ______" heheehe LOL... well i did also broke the chain of my family tradition, because now I am the only eighth letter named member of the family... and the fact that now I am gay... the name suits me now more than ever...
