My name is Hydee
written by Hydee, February 08, 2008
My mother's favorite movie growing up was Heidi-hence my name. However, she wanted me to be unique and so she spelled my name Hydee. She turned a unique and uncommon name into a truly unique name. It's rare to find a Heidi but even rarer to find a Hydee. I love my name and I hope you do too!
Love it...

I know how you feel about the "Heidi-Ho" nickname. My name is Heidi and I was born in 1980. I really hated my name when I was growing up, because I could never find anything with my name on it. And I went through a lot of my school years being called "Heidi-Ho." To top it all off, my uncle had a Rottweiler named Heidi too. Go figure...

I used to hate my name when i was younger especially the Heidi-Ho reference and some meaner. I really had problems when people spelled my name wrong especially since it is a famous book. ( I've counted 32 different ways, some more ridiculous than others. )

I didn't start to like my name until high school when i realized it was a unique name. 'Til this day, when i meet another Heidi, it is always the same reaction:
"OMG MY NAME IS HEIDI TOO." It's like an instant bonding happens when you meet another Heidi, especially helpful during customer service. :)
I love my name Heidi

As a child I didn't like my name. As a teenager I realized it was cool having an uncommon name. I went to a small school & there were 2 other Heidi's. We were each so different, but somehow people still confused us but usually in humorous situations. I was so surprised to read the previous comments here saying they were also called Heidi-Ho! That's hysterical to me! When I moved far from my home state & began making new friends. I laughed out loud the day a friendly coworker (who liked to sing & make up song lyrics) walked up to me & sang an impromptu song with "Heidi-ho" in it. He suddenly stopped singing & apologized thinking he offened me. It was such a funny moment!
hiedi, you spelt your name wrong
written by hiedi sheather, March 26, 2010
i love my name and the way my parents spelt it (I before E...) though as a child i was too shy to correct people when they spelt it the traditional way. i would even have people tell me that i spelled it wrong. sigh, too funny. i also would be called hiedi~ho. to me the name is very common. at my high school there were 14 heidi's (except me as hiedi!) over 5 grades, but i still get excited when i meet other hiedi/heidi/hydee's
