Growing up as a child in the 70's, I wasn't too happy with my name. Now as an adult, I love it!!! I find my name to be quite classy.

I love my name too! I was called Cyn as a nickname up until my principal of my christian school asked my mother to find something different because it was very wrong to be calling out to the playground "Cyn(sin) where are you Cyn?" LOL I love that story!

I absolutely love having Cynthia as my name. As a child I was called Cindy. All my adult life I have gone by Cynthia. It's my name. I was named after a dancer and love to dance but ironically I have heard "Way, to go Grace!" a few times because I'm a wee bit clumsy! I always tease my mother that she named me after a 'break dancer'!
Absolutely Love My Name

When I was younger my family called me Cindy. However I always thought of myself as Cynthia. The only ones who refer to me as Cindy - their spelling (I prefer Cyndi) - are my brother, sisters and their children. My Mother and my husband of 42 years along with everyone else adddresses me as Cynthia.
It is a lovely name to have and I am happy it is mine!
Goddess of the Moon

This name had brought me nothing but compliments my whole life. Cynthia Marie is so pretty! I'm now in my mid 30's and I've always been the only Cynthia in school and I loved that! Until recently, I worked in an office with FOUR other Cynthia's besides me! People call me Cindy (like my husband and his family and friends) but, I much prefer Cynthia because it's much more sophisticated. I even have a small half-moon tattoo!

We call our friend, "Cyd". Or, we'd call her "Cynthiasarus" just to tease her with a dinosaur name - worked great! Cynthia? Pretty name for a pretty girl.

I always hated "Cynthia" sounded too "proper" now I like it. The only people that call me that though are my husband when he's being funny or my mom when she is pretending to be mad.
Most people still call me Cindy (at 39), although Sis and Cidny (Sydney) are close seconds.

my mom named me "CYNTHA" no i. i hate it because every one always assumed i spelled my own name wrong. and the worst part is when on legal papers they change it to cynthia. has any one ever heard of any one else being called cyntha

I love my name. Im a bit of a darker person and associate with the "goth" scene. Its cool to have a name that i don't have to change to sound dark like most of the people i know. Plus, i like the fact that i don't know many Cynthia's and i hate being called cindy. And for Cyntha, my mom used to call me that when i was little because its how i used to say it, and mow my niece calls me cyntha.

My name is spelled with an "S"
written by Synthia, November 05, 2009
I always hated my name until now. It's spelled Synthia and I can never find anything with my name spelled like that. I am now happy that my name is unique and nobody at my school has it. They all say they have never heard the name before. :) I am so happy with my name now.
