THANK YOU! I'm glad more people DON'T like Lydia as a name.

We named our (now 9 year old) daughter Lydia and it's the most perfect fit for her!!! We're glad it's not a popular name!

=)
My name is fabulous!

Lydia is a brilliant name full of meaning and inferences. Lydians were the first people to make coins and to have retail stores at around 600 BC so we have a lot of history in our name. Also, the Lydia in the Bible was the first European convert to Christianity. Be proud of your name!
:D My name rocks.

My parents were watching pride and prejudice. My dad like Lydia Elizabeth but my mom liked Lydia Jane better. Lydia is a nice name. It's weird thought, because it's an uncommon name but it doesn't feel unusual or exotic. It also rhymes with chlamydia which is not good.
since Beetlejuice :)

I have liked "Lydia" every since I saw Beetlejuice as a little girl. It's still relatively uncommon, but I think it's on the rise with children who are in their toddler ages and younger.

Yes, it is getting more common. I know LOTS of little girls and babies named Lydia. It's a BEAUTIFUL name but I would not use it just because in my circle of friends there are a lot of Lydias already.
I love my name

I am from Chile and I like my name "Lidia" very much. My mom's and grandma's name is also "Lidia". I never felt it as an old woman's name, because most people use to call me Lily and it sound beautiful. What I do not like so much is my middle name "Andrea" because it is too common in my country, but it is ok, though

I use to not like this name Lydia but I've grown to fall in love with it. Other members of my family as it as their middle name just as me. I think it is wonderful to be called Lydia n to know that it has a Biblical meaning, I do feel bless n special.
