Since my husband chose the name for our first child, I always wanted this one so luckily we had another girl and this is exactly what i chose. Some people pronounce it different but a quick correction doesn't bother me. i also thought the spelling of it Layla is pretty to.

Lailah, name of an Angel
written by Caroline, August 01, 2009
In the Torah, GOD Almighty sent Lailah, angel of the night, to Abraham. In part to protect and to fight for him in a nighttime battle against vile, corrupt and ungodly kings. They fought side by side and easily destroyed the sinners. So, in my opinion, Lailah represents strength where there is darkness.
My name too!!

I have always enjoyed my name. Like a previous poster, my name is pronounced Lie-la instead of Lay-la. At nearly 40 years of age and having traveled to other countries, I have not yet met anyone with my name spelling and pronunciation. Using my pronunciation people always spell it, Lila or Lilah, and using my spelling they always pronounce it, Layla. I have never really minded. I like being somewhat unique. :)
Laila

I think Laila is a beautiful name. I want to name my daughter that, but I personally think it makes a pretty middle name as well. My daughter's name is going to be- Ava Laila. I've always seen it spelt Layla. The 1st time I'd seen it spelt Laila was on a norwegian perfume. =-)
