proper irish spelling of this name is alannah or alanna originates from the irish words alainn which means lovely and leanabh which means child. alannah itself is an expression of endearment from parent to child for example.

Alana Darlene... This is my daughter's name. We also heard that the name means peaceful. We get many compliments on her name. The name has become increasingly popular in the last 3 years.
