Sounds a bit too alchohlic to me.

Fancy calling a poor child this. It's nearly as bad as Martini or something. Sounds cute but don't punish a little girl with this name.
Lost in Translation?

Um, Midori has nothing to do with "martini".
It's Japanese, and in Japanese it means "green".
I don't see what's wrong with it.
I think it's a beautiful name.
One of my favorite Japanese names, actually.
I agree

I could see naming a pet Midori but to me its an alcoholic beverage that is best served with sweet soda at a club! Not to name a child... but do as you wish..

I love this name. My cousin & his wife chose this name for their daughter's first name.

Actually, Midori is a very popular girl's name and its sweet. Like naming a daughter Summer or April. Midori's very closely related to Spring (the season)

I like that name, but i wonder what the name would mean if you added ko, so that it would spell midoriko. like in the anime Inuyasha.
If I was born a girl, my name would've been Midori.

If I was born a girl, my mom would've named me Midori. It's a very popular name... for humans.
And how did martinis, or anything alcoholic for that matter, come up here?
@Angela (Midoriko) and the name Midori
written by Abbie, July 21, 2010
Ko used in a name typically means "child" in Japanese, so it would probably be something like "green child." And you know, I don't get how you could get Midori confused with martinis, either. I do like the name Midori, I think it's really pretty, though how martinis were brought up with it I have no clue.
love it

this is such a cute name. its a shame some people would want to try ruin it with alcohol. it has nothing to do with it. greens my fave colour.

i think midori is a beautiful name but i agree that when i hear it, the first thing that comes to my head is an alcoholic beverage!! i'm not sure if where you guys are from has midori, but here in australia, it is a very popular green melon tasting spirit!!
