This is my daughter's name and I absolutely love it! I get compliments on it all of the time. And it's meaning "precious" is so fitting for a baby girl. My ancestors were from the Chippewa tribe so I was really happy I could find a beautiful Native American name. FYI, her full name is Tehya Marie.

This is my daughters name but we pronounce it
"Tay-ah". We went through various names; mainly boys names as we were convinced she was going to be a boy so it took us a couple of days to make a list of girls names in hospital. We aren't into common or traditional names and Tehya was on the short list. My husband wrote it down and I started to call her by the name and that was it. I'm glad we did, it totally suits her. She's 16 months old now with dark hair and dark eyes and is a mischievious little toddler.
We have named her Tehya Maali (pronounced Tay-ah Marley). The spelling of Maali is correct for the meaning; we weren't trying to be different or unconventional :-)
Our oldest daughter is 4 years old and her name is Asha.

Well I ran across this name on another website and my husband automatically agreed to it oddly. I love this name and we are not telling anyone we know the name since every name we have chosen in the past got taken. Only one problem we are debating on how to say it. I don't want it to sound like taya it's just to plain for me and he is thankfully letting me have my way on how to say it lol. I am having a hard time on deciding between pronouncing it like te-hi-a or te-he-a or maybe tya. No matter what it will be spelled Tehya so the meaning is the same. So please send me your suggestions thank you.
Love it

I loved this name the first time I heard it. I got to name my beautiful new niece and this is the name I chose. I changed the spelling a bit to make it easier to pronounce. My new niece's name is
TAYAH FAITH! and she is very precious!

I love this name. I have 4 other children who each have 5 letters in their first names. Malik, Jaxon Zahra and Brock, we call him Rocky. Now that we are expecting our second little girl I wanted a name that wouldnt be something you see every day but still pretty. I am stuck on a middle name so any ideas would be a great help.

My daughter's name is Precious Nicole. She is pregnant and if it is a girl she is going to name the baby Tehya Nicole so that will essentially have the same name.
