Kai is a strong and beautiful soul.
Meaning fire. As with wooden arrows and spear shafts made the old way, fire burns, but what you get becomes stronger, more resilient and tough.
Bless ye souls and fare thee well...

My 1st born is named Makai but we call him Kai. I liked the fact that it is a Hawaiian name (use to live there) so thats where Kai came in. Now I thought it was more for a girl so I ended up putting the "Ma" in front to make it a little "masculine". He gets a lot of praise for his name!!

Hi, I have searched and searched for some verification of the Scottish origins of this name and I can't find it anywhere. I have found the Persian, Hawaiin, Scandinavian, Germanic, and many others. I have even looked in 'Scottish dictionaries'! Is there anyone who can help me verify it? A scottish person perhaps, who can tell me exactly what 'scottish origins' means?? I'd be very grateful!
Kai isn't a really nice name...
written by Flanders, July 25, 2010
Well if you aren't from Hong Kong, you would probably think this is a nice name, but in Hong Kong, "Kai" is a slang for stupid or idiot.
I actually think it's a nice name but if you name your child that, keep him/her away from Hong Kong people...
