I absolutely love this name. We adopt a chinese baby girl a year ago and her name was Kuan-yin. Her English (or I guess Spanish-Russian) name is Natalia. For a Nick-name we call her Tally.

Really thought it was Russian. Actually I was told it was English for Natasha....guess not. My baby girl is Netalya. Haven't found this spelling yet. So she's definitely got a unique name.

It is used a lot in Russia as well. Natasha is the Russian diminutive of Natalia, so in a way, Natalie/Natalia is the English (or outside Russia) equivalent of Natasha.
