i was wondering if you guys named your kids whether by its meaning or just because you like some specific names.im not pregnant...yet but im now serious considering the name Presley for a boy meaning:from the priest's meadow.i have a friend who's a Catholic priest,i have known him for 15 years since i was a little girl oh we're 25 years apart.and he died from a car crash couple days ago.so if i had a boy i wanted to named him Presley to somehow honor my special friend but kida confuse cuz people think it a girl name spelled Presleigh.i only love it for a boy...so wdyt is Presley to feminine???? i will truly greatful for all your replies.Thank you

I think of Presley as being a boy's name. As for naming children for a certain meaning, I only personally remember the meaning for one of my three children's names off the top of my head. Our second daughter is named Kaia Avalon and Kaia means "pure" and Avalon is "apple" or "apple island". Giving a child a name because of it's meaning is great, but I think it's more important to love the name itself and not just the meaning behind it.

I also think has Presley has a boys name! All the names I have picked for my future children,I have choosen the names because I love them. I don't even known the meanings of the names. I think if I was to name my child based on a meaning, I would still have to like/love the way the name sounds.

I personally think of Presley as a boy name. However, I quickly in my mind translate it to girl now automatically because I have heard of several girls named Presley/Presleigh. But it's one of those I wish was just a boy name.

I also had to just love the name in and of itself to bestow it on my kids. If it had a cool meaning, great. If it had a totally obvious terrible meaning, I may have not named them that. But to me the most important thing is really liking the name and also feeling like that is the name meant for that certain child.

How about Preston, Pierce, Price, etc? They may have different meanings but sound and look similar.

my parents chose our name by its meaning but for me, i am going to find a new name for my confirmation name as mine doesn't really resemble any of the saints' names. (except my middle name Andrea = St.Andrew)

i'll choose a name by it's meaning and see if the name feels right and ok to me. If u really like Presley, maybe u should just go for it

Personally, I like Presley better for a male so I think you should go for it.
