"Kyrie Eleison" (part 2)
By cdv 3 Years, 10 Months Ago
Just thought I'd share this with you.

Some of you may remember that I posted a message a couple months ago, after hearing the song "Kyrie" by the 80's group 'Mr. Mister' which I'd always loved, while I was on here. The full name is "Kyrie Eleison" (kee-ree / ee-lay-son) and for those who don't know, a Greek liturgy meaning "Lord Have Mercy".
I wondered if anyone, liking it enough, would use it, or part of it, changing to an easier spelling. After a short debate that was over.

Well somebody (a Catholic) did take note but said nothing at the time. She registered today, just to PM me that she had decided on it for her first daughter - asked me to tell but to please not reveal the spelling, as she wanted to "have it to herself".
I feel quite honoured!!

Well that was sure sweet of her and I remember 'cos we were having a bit of a laugh about the "misheard lyrics" part and someone saying "carry a laser (Kyrie Eleison)/ down the road that I must follow.." ... yeah. Oh well whatever her spelling it sure sounds good enough. I mean religious or not.

That's interesting 'Kellymh' ... I guess it is not that unique then and maybe some spell it just that way, too.
I loved the song when I first heard it but had to look up the lyrics to see what exactly he was saying!
It IS a beautiful name ... and has such a special meaning ... whether one is Catholic or not.

(We ALL need a little "mercy" at times ... especially while in labour!! )
