my hubby and i are trying for our second child. we have an almost 2 year old named Austin Garrett.

i saw that name and for some reason i liked and i have never seen it. it is bad? oh and our last name is porter so tell me if you think the names sound good and if you can think of any other suggestions that would be great. thanks

I like the name Jocelyn Elizabeth. It sounds unique.

Your girl name choices are very pretty. Nice. The boy name Archer is a bad idea. It sounds unattractive with the last name. Two "er" endings is not good rhythm. Look for something better. Plus, do you REALLY want to just jump into the bandwagon of this whole boy naming fad with the Cooper/Tucker/Walker/Gardener type names? I think they will also sound really dated in a few years. Go for a classic!

I am sorry but, Dada....(previous poster) do you just like to jump on everyones name choices if they aren't bland and old sounding? I mean give the people a break. If they want something different then let them. It is not your child and you don't get the final say in what the babies name is. Every post I have read that you have responded to....you always have something negative to say about one or all of the names someone posts if you don't like them. Well that is not your choice. I know people ask for opinions and that is the reason for the posts but, you could stand to be a little nicer!!!! If someone wants a different name then don't rip on them for it. People WANT original names not something that everyone has.

Sorry about that nlg_01 but, it had to be said. And by the way I think the name Archer Cole is a very cool name. Both the boy and girl names I picked out are very odd and different but I will not state them here cause DADA will probably hate those to....LOL Anyways Good luck hun! I hope you succeed in concieving your 2nd Child!!! I want to have kids some day!!! I am only 22 though I still have some time huh!!!

I think Austin and Archer would be adorable together! And Archer Porter kind of has this catchy ryhme to it, you just wanna keep saying it ! And he would have cute initials: ACA. Besides, most boys ages of 11-20 are called by their last name anyway, or a form of it (don't ask me why, I guess it's a boy thing ).
Both girl names are stunning! I like Olivia Marie the best though, with the nickname Livi. Good Luck!

I love the way Archer Porter sounds. I'm all for unique names. My only problem is that in our family everyone ends up with an "E" sound on the end for a nickname whether they want it or not. (ex.Matthew = Mattie, Jacob=Jake=Jakie, Nathaniel = Nate = Natie) So I always have be concious of how they will take the given name and create a nickname from it. I don't know how I feel about Archie. But if you like it, then go with it. Archer Porter sounds like he would be a great man!
