Re:things to buy before baby's arrival By Angeldolllogic 1 Year, 1 Month Ago I'm at a loss as to why no one has responded to your question, but I'll list what I bought for my son. Apologies for not responding earlier, but I've been birthing kittens all day long!
Crib (or bassinet) Bedding (for the crib and/or bassinet. At least 2 sets) Receiving Blankets (these are inexpensive, small, lightweight blankets. At least 4) Bumper pads (for the crib) Mobile (to hang over the crib) Playpen Car Seat Baby Carrier Stroller High Chair Baby Swing (great for colic) Baby Monitor Diaper Bag Diapers & Wipes Bottles (Even if your going to breastfeed you'll need these for water. When he gets a bit older you'll use them for juice. Bibs & Burp Cloths Formula (if you not going to breastfeed. I used Enfamil w/Iron, but ask your doctor what he recommends.) Pacifier Onesies (short & with feet. At least 10. I used these for everyday because newborns have such sensitive skin, and they're really soft. My son was also, a redhead which made the whole sensitive skin thing even worse.) Outfits (good to have a few of these for pictures, or special outings. At least 7) Socks Booties, or some kind of shoe Knit Hat Johnson Tearless Baby Shampoo Johnson Baby Lotion A & D Ointment (this is the best stuff ever for diaper rash!) Bulb Syringe (for sucking stuff out of his nose if he's sick) Thermometer Babies can't regulate their body temperature very well when they're an infant. That's the reason for all the receiving blankets, hat, onesies and socks. Some of this stuff (high chair, playpen) you can wait on if you're on a tight budget. I tried to be thorough, but I'm 51 yrs old, it's been a while since I've done this.

Re:things to buy before baby's arrival By BridgetKatharine 1 Year, 1 Month Ago Okay, I'm pretty sure the crib and bedding and furniture the carseat and stroller is a given.. Other things
Onesies (Can NEVER have too many) Baby monitor pants Diapers (don't buy only newborn! Some babies only stay in those a few weeks) themometer pacifiers Bottles (even if you plan to breastfeed I'd have bottles AND formula for backup incase you can't for whatever reason) Blankets Swaddling blankets hats socks baby bath bath soap diaper rash cream baby powder baby lotion waterproof crib pads! Those were a must for us once Grayson hit 6 months and he was soaking through his diaper 2-3 nights a week! Oh and these 2 websites if you want cute personalized onesies or pacifiers! My friend recommended these sites to me! mypacifier.com simplycolors.com both do ship internationally if you don't live in the states! I've sent some things to my friend in Europe who has a little girl!

Re:things to buy before baby's arrival By Shann 1 Year, 1 Month Ago Totally agree with the above posts!
Here are some other things you will need or will make life easier: - Plenty of wipes and nappy bags for diaper changes. - Plenty of soft face washers for bath time, sponge bathing and nappy changes. - Soft towels especially for the baby. - I had a small bath toy that tells you if the bath water is too hot - Baby panadol - Plenty of batteries handy for your camera to catch all those special moments! - A dummy chain, if you choose to use a dummy. Saves losing it! - Baby fingernail clippers or a small nail file. Good luck! Hope this helps

Re:things to buy before baby's arrival By Meaghan C. 1 Year, 1 Month Ago Not sure where you're from, but if you don't understand what a dummy is (I'm from the U.S. and it took me the longest time to figure it out), it's a binky or pacifier.
It might be nice to have a baby book and/or a photo album or scrap book, too. With our first one we had hers with us at the hospital and they put her finger prints and footprints in it for us. I don't really have anything to add other than that. I think the other ladies pretty much covered everything.
