By Oracle09 4 Months, 2 Weeks Ago Congrats!! anyway i'll have to agree with your husband...& well all the others! Hannah sounds beautiful, it's common yeah but considering it has so much of both your personal stories behind it, it's bound to be real special!! Good luck!!

Re:Hannah Caroline By Meaghan C. 4 Months, 2 Weeks Ago If I was you I would just call her by both names until she's old enough to decide what she wants to be called. It sounds like she'll be getting called by both names individually enough anyway so there really isn't any reason to confuse her more at home. If you and your hubby call her Hannah Caroline all the time at home she'll be more likely to respond to either name individually with the rest of the family.

Re:Hannah Caroline By ReenaC 4 Months, 2 Weeks Ago There is a good chance you will end up calling her neither name. She may be a Boodge, Bug, Pooh, Sugar, Princess, Nan, Babygirl, or one of a million of the other nicknames that just seem to pop up because they fit the kid so perfectly. She will probably end up called Hannah at school, and in her professional life, so you might do your best to come to terms with that.
You could name her Carol-Anna instead, and then you both get your way.

Re:Hannah Caroline By happy2bme 4 Months, 2 Weeks Ago Nope, no nicknames. We have actually come up with a solution. There will be 1 of 2 options that my family can call her. Hannah Caroline, or Caroline. I talked to my friend and that is what she did with her daughter, who now goes by her middle name, and she would correct people if they did otherwise. As for my husband, he did get to choose what we call our son and I wasn't crazy about it at first till I got used to it, so this is a compromise and he says he is fine with it. Thanks for the advice, though!

Re:Hannah Caroline By happy2bme 4 Months, 2 Weeks Ago Oh, and Oracle09, Caroline is just as special as Hannah, because it was the name my mom and grandmother picked for my sister's mn...all 3 have passed away (my mom when I was 8 yrs old and my sister was 5..then my sister passed away when she was 15)and my grandmother was our second mom...so anyway, it just makes that name very special all the way around, and it is what my husband and I have always said we'd name a girl
