Is this sugar level too high?
By happy2bme 6 Months Ago
I posted earlier to see if anyone else has sugar problems. Well, I have not been diagnosed with gestational diabetes, I just failed my first glucose test and my dr went ahead and put me on the carb counting diet. He checks my sugar at my visits and it has been in normal limits. I don't quite understand how it all works. But anyway, today (Thanksgiving) after eating at about 12:30, an hour and 15 minutes later I checked my sugar with my mom-in-law's monitor or whatever you call it and my number was 177 which I thought was way too high. I did eat dressing, peas, potato salad, green beans, turkey and ham and just a couple of bites of cranberry sauce, then just a few bites of dessert. Well, an hour later I checked it again and it was down to 102. Is this within normal limits if it was down to 102 two hours after eating? I am just concerned about the 177. I am going to talk to my dr about it, but was just wondering what anyone else with sugar problems has to say.

I know the cut-off level at the 1 hr. test is 140, so yes 177 seems to be pretty high. I'm not a doctor, though, so I don't know if it's "normal" to go from 177 to 102 in an hr.

Hello..
It is very important that you take care of the health in pregnancy and you should try to take the herbal medicines so that there is no side effect of it on health as well as on baby. You should take the advice from the doctors regarding it.

Well, none of this matters to me anymore since our little bundle arrived 2 wks ago after my water broke She arrived at 33 wks 3 days and is doing well. She was 4 lb 8 oz and 18.5" long...as soon as she was out she was crying and acting like a full term baby. Didn't have any problems, and we are just sooo thankful to the Good Lord above that she has done so well to be almost 2 months early!! We had TONS of prayers from the start. The whole outcome has amazed me, and yes the due date was correct. As of yesterday she was 4 lb 15.5 oz so gained 4.5 oz since we got home 5 days ago. Just keeping her home now at least till her due date, trying to keep her well! My husband and I didn't realize just how many babies are born premature and how well they do most of the time.
