tooth pain and headaches
By lori dana 3 Years, 9 Months Ago
Hey girls...
I am only 7 weeks pregnant and I am having sever headaches, and this weird mouth pain....the pain is in the gums and radiates into my teeth. I pride myself on my oral hygiene and got a clear bill of health from my dentist 3 months ago.....so my question is, did anyone else experience this when they were preggers?

I had headaches with my daughter on a regular basis, and pretty much keep a headache with this pregnancy. If I understand correctly headaches are fairly common during pregnancy and I just take some tylenol when I can't stand it anymore. As for the tooth pain, I can't help here, I haven't experienced that myself. I would talk to your doctor about both of your problems though.

Hiya,
i have experienced the exact same thing. for me the headaches are due to the fact that my blood pressure is low so maybe get that checked out. The tooth pain thing i have not been able to find out a cause for this but that it happens some times do to a lack of nutrients in your body especially during pregnancy.
Unfortunatly for me these symptoms have affected me my whole pregnancy and now i get sores on my gums, maybe go back to your dentist to get another check up, i dont think its anything to do with your dental hygiene more to do with your body reacting to the pregnancy hormones

Well I know that some people have their gums bleed during pregnancy which is supposed to be caused by the amount of estrogen in your system, have not experienced it myself though.
I have had a headache pretty much every day since I was about 10 weeks pregnant, and my dr. told me that it was probably due to the rise in hormones in my body, this is supposed to be true if you have ever had migraines/headaches before you had your period, it is caused by a rise in hormone levels. If that is the case, the headache you are having now is supposed to get worse as the pregnancy progresses. I haven't had the baby yet but some days the headache is alot worse and other days it isn't so bad, you might get to the point that you are so used to havingone that it doesn't even really effect you, except you won't have as much energy and thinking might still be difficult.
I know with my headaches nothing works to help ease the pain. I tried tylenol, didn't even phase it. The dr prescribed me some other drugs to try to help with the headaches, but those didn't work either. I have found the best thing to get rid of my headaches is to put an icepack on my head, sit in a cold dark room, and try to take a nap. The same way I would treat any migraine.
Hope this helped, and best of luck to you.
