poems
By mummy2lailani 4 Years Ago
what do you think of this poem i wrote for my daughter and does anyone else have any?

QUOTE:
Lailani I Love you Lailani,
My Baby Girl,
Your Growing Up Fast,
My Love For You Will Always Last,
Your Ten Weeks Old,
Getting More Beautiful By The Day,
I’ll Be There For You Come What May,
I Love You More Than You’ll Ever Realize,
I Love To Look Into Your Eyes,
My Gorgeous Girl,
I Am So Proud,
To Be Your Mummy,
I Want To Shout It Out Loud,
I Love You Loads, With All My Heart,
And That Love For You Will Never Part.

WOW!
That's really good! Did you give that poem to your daughter for her birthday or something? Or did you just make it for no apparent reason and just out of love?
I'm going to try and think of poem after I post this.
By the way, how do you pronounce your daughter's name?

Tea for Two

Lord, You blessed me with a memory
I shall hold quite dear.

Today we enjoyed togetherness
as Mother and as Daughter

We shared a meal and rambled through
the old mixed with the new

We chatted and laughed
And shared our thoughts
Just like we usually do.

The memory of such simple pleasure
brings a smile to my face
of hours filled with grace.

As I look back what do I see
A Daughter, lovely in her simplicity
bringing a special find to me,

A rosebud teacup as delicate as she.
The beauty of both apparent to me.

We shopped, then sat and enjoyed a meal
I said, "Let's plan an 'in-home' tea."
I thought it might appeal.

One with sandwiches and scones,
jams and teacakes for us to taste.
"Well, that would really be a waste,
she laughingly replied to me.

"Since tea is not what I prefer," said my darling daughter,
"you would have to serve me only boiling water!

Oh! Sweet Memory she brought back to me
Of the time when she was three
Inviting me to a cup of tea.

Giving me nectar from her soul so pure
That the taste of it does still endure.

What beauty in her soul
Did she pour into that little cup
That I drink it yet today!

Oh Sweet Yesterday!
Oh Beautiful Today!

This night I add another gem
to the treasures in my mind
and later on, when I bring it out,
to relish it anew
I'll say a prayer of thankfulness
and offer it to you.

And when I take the cup she brought,
filled with the tea I've brewed,
I'll raise it up, in a toast of love
and send it, God, to you!

A poem I wrote for my daughter several years ago after a day of antique shopping.
Enjoy your children, embrace who they are, make a memory!

Happy Mother's Day One and All!

Amy, your poem was lovely! Thank you for sharing it with us.
