By Natalia 3 Years, 7 Months Ago
Yesterday because I was just healing they gave the babies formula through their feeding tubes but now their asking me to pump for their feeding tubes which I have no problem with but the pump they gave me is rough and it hurts and they ask me to do so much at once.....I'm going to send Ryan out to get a better one and I want to know which one to get?!?!?!?

It is so good to hear from you Natalia. I am so happy the girls are doing okay. You are so blessed to have Ryan in your life, to help you with all this, you two will be lovely parents.
Congratulations. I am reading all your posts, but I seldom comment, I just had to say something to you today. You are showing us how to do this parenting/birthing thing. Good luck.

what kind of pump did they give you? the hospital let me use an electric one while my daughter was in NICU. my experience is that electric pumps hurt, and i get alot more out of manual ones. ive been thru a few and i love the one i have now. it is a Medela Harmony manual pump. it has a let-down and a pump mode, and the part your boob goes in is softer and more comfortable. every body is different so what works for me may not work for you. good luck, i know every day there are in there seems like an eternity. it does get better.

I made Ryan go out and get another pump. It's a double one and its not as rough and isn't such a tight suction. So its better.

The hospital has an lactation consultant they will be willing to help you and show you how to do it and so if your doing it right and any other questions you may have. Nurses help with that too. I nursed for 14 months so if you have any questions feel free to pm me
