First of all congrats on all your children.
And it's always awesome to know that young couples plan to adopt children, it's a bit of a shock when one of my friend's husband told me that he would never adopt a child because "it's not my blood, it's not my family i would never accept that child as i accept my real daughter" i felt really bad after hearing this words.

Thanks!

Its shocking to me too that someone would say such a thing. A child is a child regardless of blood relation. If you raise a child, you'll love it like your own.

My own father said that he won't love my adopted kids. I actually got into a fight with him and told him I'm offended that he would say such a thing, but he didn't say anything.

But really, I DON'T believe him! I know he'll love my adopted kids. My father loves my son and daughter to death and he is very excited for my second daughter to be born....He loves kids and he is great with kids (all kids) and I simply don't believe he won't feel a connection to my future adopted children. If he truly loves me, he'll love my adopted kids and won't see them as any different than my bio ones. I know his heart will melt when I bring a new little boy home and he'll finally get to meet him. I know my father too well and I know that right now he is all talk!

I don't belive your father wont love your adopted son either, even though i don't know him.
People use to talk without thinking first.
But my friend's husband situation was different, a few years a go i had a problem and the doctor doesn't allow me to have children, and i met my friend while i was in the hospital because she has the same problem as i do, but i have decided to adopt a child and my husband agreed and so we did it but her husband doesn't allow her to adopt a child because he only wants bio children, i don't blame him for wanting bio children but adoption is always a good option and does it really matter what the blood tests say? I'm not a bio mother but i'm a "heart mother".

hey
i also like adotption and plan on adopting when i start a family. i think its great that you ladies are adopting older children as they tend to be the last ones there (babies go first). i want to adopt from a poor country or China as they seem to have a lot of orphans (AIDS and in zchina all the All Girl Orphanages) and i dont think their are many (orphanages) where i live (Aus), but i havnt looked into it just yet. once again i think its great your all adopting older children and even just adopting at all

Yes, I think adoption is great especially when adopting an older child. Lots of kids get abandoned by their parents later on and nobody wants to adopt them because they are older, well I think older kids deserve love and a family too.

The first child I'm going to adopt is an african american boy (he was the first child shown to us by the agency). There's a long waiting list for Caucasian infants, and I think more people should look into adopting whoever is available for adoption instead of specifics like certain age, race, etc.
I am open to adopting all races and ages, though I know minorities (non whites) are less likely to get adopted, especially if they are older.

Hello Random chick,
It's really nice to know taht we have another young lady planing to adopt, when i decided i wanted to adopt i didn't chose any age, gender or race, that's why i didn't have to wait for too long because i just wanted a child, any child didn't care about the age, the gender or the race i just wanted to be a mother.
Im very happy to know that you girls think taht way!
