Threat or Playful? By colan1128 3 Years, 7 Months Ago My ex reported to me yesterday that my soon to be 3 yr old son was caught "mounting" his goddaughter of similar age. Now I was not there, however his father and the little girls mother saw what happened and were both disturbed. Of course I was accused of having sexual relations in front of my son- which is preposterous and frankly down right offensive. My son has his own room and has been sleeping there for more than a year now. If my husband and I are ever sexual my son is in his 5th dream, and he has never walked in on us. Now my son is in daycare, and I have never gotten any complaints or bad reports on his behavior. Especially nothing to this effect. I don't know if my son's actions were overexaggerted, but I don't know what to do. A big part of me says that he's a baby and wouldn't know where to mimic that from, maybe somehow they miscontrued him playing. Another part of me looks at the situation and wonders if this is true- where did he get it from? How do I make sure that this doesn't happen again?

Re:Threat or Playful? By puck 3 Years, 7 Months Ago he may have just thought it up. remember that small children are not sexual beings and nothing they do can be conveyed as sexual. i think the worst thing your ex & co could have done was overreact. that will make him ashamed of himself when there is no reason to be. he cannot be punished for it, he wont see what he did as wrong, just as 'playing'. his entire body is new to him, even the parts that make parents blush. you cant really ensure it wont happen again, you will make him ashamed, and you risk losing open communication. he will in time learn what is appropriate and what should be kept for at home (like if he touches himself-he will learn it is only appropriate in his own room). dont worry yourself, what he is doing is completely normal, your ex was way off base reacting like he did.
good luck...

Re:Threat or Playful? By Seaason 3 Years, 7 Months Ago i had a similar exp with my 5yo when he was abt the same age, but it wasnt humping, i bought the kids, mine and a neighbours kids some wizz fizz, a white powder type candy they eat with a spoon, pure sugar, lol but it was summer and i thought why not, so i gave them 1 packet each, my 3yo proceeded to pour his on the coffee table and started to "snort" the sherbert,
i was stunned, my neighbour thought it was funny , but i was disturbed.. from that moment on i have been ever vigilant about what my kids watch on TV, as thats the only place he could have gotten it from, its amazing that sex and drugs are so prevalent on television that we dont even see half of it any more.. i wouldnt worry too much, it doesnt mean ur son will be a fiend, just that his powers of observation and mimicry are spot on, like any 2-3 yo child.. hope i have been some help Seaason
