If you didn't have your kid/kids now you wouldn;t have had the same kids they would be different.

I have a unique perspective on this question because I have experienced both ends of the age spectrum. I had my first three kids between the ages of 21 and 26, and I just had my little one 3 and a half months ago at the age of 36. Being a younger parent has the benefit of unlimited energy when they are young and I connect well with my teenagers because I can still remember the being a teenager and how it felt. On the other hand I hadn't finished school or wanting to go out and be young. I ended up getting my BA in English this last year and my kids went on that long journey with me. It was great for them to see the hard work it takes, but they have also had to experience some really lean times financially. I think being an older mom now gives me a new appreciation for being a parent. I know my patience is much greater now.I am more settled with myself and I think that allows me to help my kids be the best people they can be.

i dont think that there is a 'perfect age' to have children. I think that the perfect time is when you feel like you are mentally and physically ready to care for and love another person who is going to solely depend on you.

I was 18.5 when i had my first. 22 when i had my second and i will be 23.5 when my 3rd is born in 2 weeks time.


I am a great mum and think that the age has been prefect for me. i have lots of energy to play with my children and i have so much love to give them. They complete me and i wouldnt ever give up my life as a mummy for anything else

i see your point, but had i gone a different route i never would have known my kids and wouldnt have known the difference. ignorance is bliss i guess. i would never want to change what i have now.

Kids should not be having kids. If someone is still living with their parents and totally dependent on them for food, clothes, money, and shelter then they are definitely not ready to be parents.

I am proud to say that I am on my last child at 23! I have two boys already at home and have an angel baby (stillbirth at 32weeks) and am pregnant with my fourth baby boy at the moment...

I have finished school, have a job, own a house, MARRIED, two cars, the list goes on.. I don't think anyone should be over 25 to have children once I had my first baby I wanted to have all of mine out of the way by the time I was 25. I am in a great position to provide for my children and think you are VERY narrow minded. JMO

But to the OP, I think early 20s is a great time as long as the parents are in it together and can provide for their children, marraige these days really shouldnt be much of a factor.

its up to you, there is nothing wrong with having kids early, my parents were married at 18 and started having kids when they were 19 they now have 13..

i think that once you have fallen in love and know exactley whats going on in your life then that is the time to start having the children married or not.

i am 28 and just had triplets im now pregnant again i left it late because i wanted to go to university and go traveling..
i was married early like my parents at 19. but it really wouldnt have affected me or my life if i wasnt married today..

have kids when ever you want ( but within reason not at 15 or 16)
