Re:Good Age to Have Kids? What's YOUR Opinion?

i had my first child which is twin sons at 28 and just turned 29, my sisters both had their first at around 24-26 and my younger sister recently found out she was 6 weeks pregnant...so most my fam had their children when they were about the same age, although my husband is the middle child of three and he is the first to have children at 29 going on 30...for my husband and i we believed it was the right time as we were both workind stable jobs with a good income, we owned our own home and we felt we were both ready for the responsibility of having children

I agree that there isn't an ideal "age" but rather that the goal should be emotional and financial stability, which may or may not include college, marriage, etc. That said, my husband and I plan to start trying in about 2.5 years, when I'll be done with my Masters and 25 years old, and he will be 33. Our age difference makes it a little tricky, as he doesn't want to be old when they're in high school, but I want to finish school and start a career before becoming a mom. We've found a good compromise--now I just hope we will, indeed, be financially and emotionally ready by then!

Me and my husband have set our goal on having our own house and feeling financially stable. I would love to be financially stable enough for both me and my husband to take time off with the children at some point. I am starting uni in March (I'm from New Zealand) and want to get my masters in economics and have established a bit of a career as well so by the time that happens I think I'll be around 28-30 and my husband will be 33-35. I think that high school kids should avoid having children, simply because it makes it harder and raising kids is hard enough without making it that much harder and decreasing your chances of raising happy children. I'm not saying it can't happen but the chances are less and the world and society is totally different to that of 50 years ago,

Most importantly learn to love your partner, learn to solve problems in a fair and democratic manner, learn to budget and look after your money, learn how to look after a household and learn about yourself and to love yourself , then have kids.

Well, I think there should a combination of fertility, health, and financial stability. When you have a baby you should have finished college and have a good job, but you shouldn't wait until you aren't as fertile anymore. You should also have some fun doing things you can't do with a baby or young child.

I have a BA in Literature and Creative Writing, a teaching credential, an MA in Education, and have been teaching High School for a few years now. I've traveled all over Central America and Mexico and learned to speak fluent Spanish. I'm 25, at the peak of my fertility, and pregnant with my first baby. My husband and I own a home and have enough money for me to stay home with the babies while they're babies. I think it's perfect

I noticed some people disagree about going to college. Parents level of education is directly related to students test scores. I'm a teacher and I see it every day. The higher the level of education the parents have, the better the kids are doing in school. If you want your kids to succeed and do well in school, go to college!
