i would try make a competition out of it, like say i bet you can eat two spoonfulls quicker than mummy, or something along those lines and wen he does eat it praise him a lot and i mean like go over the top a bit, he will feel so proud of himself that he will take another mouthful just to get the attention and praise...also if you have other older children get them to help encourage him, we did this with my nephew at first it was a bit slow but once he did take his first bite and he got all the encouragement he didnt really look back, yes there were some hickups where he didnt like the food or wudnt eat it but he eventually got over it, try make meal times fun and he should hopefully catch on

Hi my little girl has been through similar on a number of occasions. We usually find it is when she is reaching her next "phase". She no longer wants her booster seat but wants to sit at the table like a big girl, also she has a knife, fork and spoon, just like the grown ups. Maybe this would help.
Other occasions we have had lots of pick and mix meals, like fajitas, or pitta bread etc where we all pick and mix. This usually encourages her to eat more.
I know it's harsh (I didn't have the bottle problem but did with dummy) but we took it off her (Homer Simpson gave them to Maggie!).
Also if she is fussing with meal we can be strict and tell her there is nothing elase until say 6pm. So say it is dinnertime now at 6pm you can have your bottle. If you don't eat dinner there is nothing else for a long while/and hour. Eventually my lo settles and eats her meal, if she doesn't then she gets nothing else for a set time after. She may get hungry but she thinks twice about fussing cos she knows there's nothing else xxx

I had my son pack up his bottles in a trash bag and throw them away himself. I also had him collect his pacifiers and we put them in a gift box and gave them to my friend as a "present" for her new baby since he was a big boy and didn't need them anymore. We made a big deal out of how generous he was to do that. In both cases he was upset for about a day and then over it. As far as your 10 month old goes, he should be off bottles in a couple of months anyway so it would be okay to get rid of them. If he's taking it at night for comfort before bed then take it away as soon as he's done to make sure your 2 year old doesn't get it. As far as the food goes don't make it a battle. His appetite will increase once he's off the bottle and he will start eating. My oldest lived on grill cheese sandwiches and yogurt for a year. The doctor told me it was fine and kids eat as much as they need and as long as its something nutritious its ok. Make sure you give him vitamins. Also since he is 2 he may be wanting to be independent. So make a big deal of getting a booster seat instead of a high chair and tell him its a big boy seat. Only let him sit in it if he doesn't have a bottle or ask for one. If he does then he has to sit in the high chair. You could also let him start helping by setting his own placemat at the table, putting out his own little plate or bowl, and his own silverware. Just a thought and I hope this made sense since I'm exhausted....oh and sorry if its long winded.
