Doctors
By Gaby7 3 Years, 6 Months Ago
Is any of you a doctor?
I have this really important question that none of the doctors i've ever talked to explain to me they just say « it's normal don't worry» but as a mother i'm very worried.

Oh okay, but i don't think you'll know this one, it has nothing to be with babies and it's not a "big deal" for most people, most doctors say i should relax because it's perfectly normal but they don't explain me anything and that is driving me crazy.
But i'll let you know
This has to be with the eye colour, i'm going to tell you the whole story:
I have hazel eyes and my husband has blue eyes.
As weird as this seems, my older son has blue eyes but the left one is half blue and half green , i've been trying to understand what happened but no one explains me anything!
Moving on, our 2nd son has a blue eye and an hazel eye, then again what happened??
And last but not least, my third child has both of his eyes blue.
What happened to them? Is this really "normal"? Am i over reacting?
Any answers please?

Well im a nurse and im not complete expert but i have seen it many times and it seems perfectly normal, i have wierd eyes were they are sometimes bright green then sometimes bright blue and it varies from the different coulours of blue and green even though other people have said i have brown eyes sometimes lol. But when they grow up i bet they will feel real special and proud of it.

i dont know what causes it, but i have the same issue. i am a mirror twin, and my left eye is blue-gray, while my right eye is green, and my sisters eyes are opposite of mine. its not especially common, but its nothing to worry about.

eye colour like hair colour is chosen by either a dominant or resessive gene, in this case it could be that there was no dominant gene in your first two sons therefore causing the change in colour in one eye and for your younger son the blue eye gene was the dominant one cause him to have two blue or it could be that you and your husband both carried the gene for blue eyes therefore passing it onto him... but i think for your first two sons there not being a dominant gene has caused the variation this is common and another example i could give you is hair colour there may not be a dominant gene so the child has a both genes causing the hair colour to be different, e.g. blonde hair and red hair well cause a strawberry blonde colour whereas brown and red could cause a gingery colour...hope this helps and that it makes sense
